Some common questions from our clients:

Our clients often have questions about the services we offer and would like more information before booking their 1 to 1 consultation.  Here some of the most common questions we get asked:


"How does the online session work?"

 

It's just a video call.  When you make your booking online, we'll send you an email including a link for you to follow, at the agreed date and time.

 

When it's time for your session to start, just follow the link and your ICC Consultant will be waiting to greet you. 


"Will just one session be enough?"

 

Everyone is different, so it's hard to say, it also depends on what you want to achieve.

 

One session may be all you need to refresh your skills and answer those burning questions.  Or, you may want to do more practice / mock interview scenarios and discuss other techniques.  

We can discuss if more sessions are required after your first. 


"How do you tailor your advice to me?"

 

Ahead of your first session, you'll be sent a pre-consultation questionnaire (see example).  It will ask questions like:

  • "Is this an internal move at your current workplace?"
  • "How long since your last interview?"
  • "Have you had feedback already we can also consider/include?"  

 


"What happens after the session?"

 

Within 48 working hours of your 1 to 1 consultation, we'll send you a follow up email summarising our advice and further resources and links you might find helpful.

 

There will be lots to discuss in your consultation, so having notes to look back on in the future will be helpful. 


"Can someone join me during my session?"

 

Of course!  It's your session, so if you'd feel more comfortable having someone sit alongside you, that's fine by us! 

 

Our aim is to create a safe space where you can ask questions, try things out and get comfortable with what your interview might entail.  If having someone sit with you will be helpful, that's absolutely ok. 


"Can't I just 'google' this stuff?"

 

Yes, some of it you can.  And we'd encourage you to do online research alongside all of our services. 

 

What Google won't be able to offer (or ChatGPT!) is a non-judgemental, honest assessment of your overall delivery, approach and where room for improvement might lie. It also won't give you a report to look back on in the future. 


"I have learning difficulties, can you help me?"

 

Yes, absolutely! As part of your pre-consultation questionnaire, we'll look to capture any information that might help our consultants tailor their advice appropriately.
